The Vrdolyak Law Group Donates 1,250 Thanksgiving Dinners to Chicago Families

The Vrdolyak Law Group, in partnership with the Russell & Clarke Youth Foundation, donated 1,250 Thanksgiving dinner baskets to families in need in Chicago.

These baskets included a 12-pound turkey, side dishes, and a dessert, and were distributed on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at two churches - the Greater Garfield Park Missionary Baptist Church and First Unity Missionary Baptist Church.

"We are happy to be able to help over 1,200 families who are not able to afford a Thanksgiving dinner," said Edward J. Vrdolyak, Managing Partner, Vrdolyak Law Group. "It means a lot to all of us at the Vrdolyak Law Group." The employees of the Vrdolyak Law Group, along with their friends and family, made up the majority of the volunteers who prepared the baskets and distributed them from the two south-side and west-side churches in Chicago. They also gave out winter hats, first-aid kits, and phone chargers.

"Many families in Chicago can't afford a Thanksgiving meal. We want to do what we can to help them," said Richard Russell who is the founder of the non-profit Russell & Clarke Youth Foundation and a Vrdolyak employee, as well as a cancer survivor. "All I want to do is to give back to my community. I'm very grateful that the Vrdolyak Law Group created this wonderful opportunity to help those in need," Russell added.

This marked the second year of partnership between the law firm and the non-profit.

They invite other churches and community organizations to join in the effort next year.
